In this section of the website we highlight some of the students who have received, or who are still receiving, a bursary or CPD grant from the Anna Plowden Trust.
The Trust supported 12 students in 2014, but during the current 2018/19 academic year we are supporting 29 students who are studying on 16 different conservation programmes across the UK. This enormous increase in the support that we can give is thanks to successful fundraising and, in particular, generous support from the Dulverton Trust,
You can find out about some of the students that we have supported in the past in the Past Grants section of this website.
In 2018 we also supported a record number of conservators with our Anna Plowden/Clothworkers' Foundation CPD grants. Thanks to this support, 44 conservators, working at 32 institutions and private practices, were able to attend 32 courses and conferences in the UK and overseas. The CPD events included the AIC Conference (Texas), a Getty course on the conservation of plastics (New York), IIC Congress 2018 (Turin), a course on consolidants adhesives and coatings (Budapest), Leadership Launchpad and the Clore Leadership programme (UK), and the conservation of barkcloth (Glasgow). This level of support is also thanks to our generous funders, The Clothworkers' Foundation.
CPD grant recipients provide a report on the course or conference that we have helped them to attend. Some of these are also featured in Past Grants.
We are keen to keep in contact with our past grantees and, in particular, to hear news of your developing career and any notable projects or successes. Do email us an update through this site so that we can feature your achievements in this section.
