APT Chairman to be first Getty Rothschild Fellow

Many congratulations to Anna Plowden Trust Chairman, Dr David Saunders, on his appointment as the inaugural Getty Rothschild Fellow.

The Getty Foundation and the Rothschild Foundation have, together, created the Getty Rothschild Fellowship, which will support innovative scholarship in the history of art, collecting, and conservation, using the collection and resources of both institutions. The fellowship offers art historians, museum professionals, or conservators the opportunity to research and study at both the Getty in Los Angeles and Waddesdon Manor in Buckinghamshire.

David will work on museum and gallery lighting during the fellowship and one of the outcomes will be what promises to be a seminal book on museum lighting.

The eight month fellowship will be spent partly at the Getty Conservation Institute and will run from January to June 2017.
